Do not open your plug spawn bag until you have read through ALL these instructions and prepared all the necessary materials. You cannot open that bag and mix the spawn into the compost until it is colonized or else it will all contaminate. Simply inject culture of choice through the front of the bag and cover the hole with strong, clean tape. Young mycelium is susceptible to bacteria, mold, and other spores, so grain spawn is pressure sterilized to prevent contamination. Take time to massage the substrate and break up any clumps, spreading the spore solution evenly throughout the bag.
